What Makes Our Cotton The Best You’ll Ever Wear
When was the last time you really thought about the fabric that touches your skin all day or night?
For me, it’s something I’ve spent weeks, months — even years — obsessing over. The feel, the way it drapes, how long it lasts before it pills, and the way good fabric can make you go “ahhh” at the end of a long day.
That’s why I painstakingly went through 107 cotton fabrics before finding the perfect one.
Cotton isn't just another fabric — it’s the material you can trust to keep you warm and cozy, while letting your skin breathe freely. I’ve taken these properties and designed them for different moments in your life."
In A World Of Fabrics, Why Cotton?
With dozens of fabrics out there — some stretchy, other’s moisture-wicking — I knew from the start I wanted the simplest and the best, “the fabric of our lives”: cotton.
Cotton is naturally soft and high-quality cotton just gets better with every wash. It’s hypoallergenic, making it a perfect choice for sleepwear and robes that are close to your skin for hours on end. Unlike synthetic fabrics that trap heat and irritate skin, cotton allows your skin to breathe all night long — a rarely talked about key to a truly deep sleep.
The Rarely-Talked About Benefits of Superior Cotton
Not all cotton is created equal. There’s regular cotton, and then there’s good cotton — the kind that feels soft on your skin, keeps its shape, and lasts for years.
But let me tell you a little-known industry secret: many brands take shortcuts by treating low quality cotton with chemicals to artificially soften it. It might feel nice at first, but it compromises durability and more importantly, exposes your skin to unnecessary risks.
I don’t believe in cutting corners. Instead, I spent months sourcing long, fine cotton fibers. This means the fibers in our cotton have been bred to be longer and smoother, resulting in a fabric that is not only naturally soft, but stronger, and less likely to get those rough and unflattering pills over time. Plus, the longer fibers mean I can weave my fabric a little more loosely, so your skin gets even more breathability.
This quality cotton is the foundation of everything I create, and I pay more for it because I truly believe my customers deserve the best — fabric that is soft, safe, and made to last.
The One Place That Grows Cotton Like No Other
After testing 107 cotton samples — that’s equivalent to a new cotton sample every week for over two years — I began to feel a bit like the Princess and the Pea. No matter how many samples I tried out, something just didn’t feel right. I needed cotton that was more than just comfortable — it needed to handle real life, through all the washes, spills and moments in between.
That search led me to India, where cotton growing isn’t just an agricultural process, it’s an art that’s been carefully honed and refined over thousands of years.
There, they specialize in those long, ultra-soft fibers that are up to 2-times longer and stronger than common cheap cottons found elsewhere (you’ll find similar long-staple fibers in famously luxurious cottons like Egyption cotton and Pima cotton).
These fibers aren’t just cozy, they’re resilient, giving you a fabric that gets softer with every wash, while maintaining its strength. Like your favorite old t-shirt, only elevated.
But what truly sets India cotton apart is the land itself. The fibers thrive in India’s fertile soils, monsoon rains and tropical heat, resulting in cotton that feels rich and luxurious, but is tough enough for daily use, weathering life with grace just as the women who wear my garments do.
